MBAs helped with a business plan for grad student Kasia Sawicka, who won first place, and engineering student Plinio Guzman, who won second place in the campus business plan contest Entrepreneur Challenge. Held Thursday March 26 ten student startups presented to a panel of experts.  Winners entered the LI contest on April 2. 

Kasia, a PhD student in Bio Technology, presented a novel system of a patch to diagnose and treat allergies. MBA teams from Tech Innovation consulted Kasia performing market research.  She won $25,000 to start her business. Plinio, a student in mechanical engineering, licensed an invention of Dr. Reed Phillips, to design and market Juice +,  a small device using bouncing magnets to recharge a smart phone. Plinio's team won $10, 000 to startup and consists of MBA Brendan Cox, MEC Nardo Litmus, and EMP Chris Pascate.
