Gerrit Wolf
posted on December 16, 2015 09:23
Juice+ won the profit track with a startup of bringing an electronic shaker to market for mountain bikes and phones. The entrepreneur was Brandon Cox who licenses the technology from Professor Reid Phillips. H2O Jacket, won the social innovation track with a unique compartmentalized jacket that carries and purifies up to six gallons of water. The intended market was a replacement for water jugs. Judges noted that there was an outdoor market that might support the main market.
Undergraduate students from four entrepreneurship classes were challenged to enter an end of semester pitch contest. Four teams from Entrepreneurship Across Countries 337 and three from Tech and Society Design 205 were selected for the event held December 4 in the Innovation Center. The judges were Burke Liburt, Paul Ghiz, Yun Zhang, and Phil Palmedo.
